Kiteboard Airline Fees

This year we’ve taken a look at some of the more common airlines in the USA and their policies on kite gear…it makes any of the split board options from Nobile increasingly attractive:

Jet Blue:

  • $50 each way as long as it’s under 100 lbs. NOT accepted at all to: Bermuda, Haiti, Peru, Port of Spain, Santo Domingo and Santiago, Dominican Republic.
  • Watch out for blackout dates and oversize baggage embargo dates. We’ve had customers get refused at the airport bringing their gear on JetBlue

Delta:

  • $150 each way for travel to all regions (excluding Brazil)
  • $100 each way for travel to/from Brazil
  • Boards over 115 linear inches (L+W+H) will not be accepted
  • Kiteboards will not be accepted as part of the passenger’s baggage allowance
  • All kiteboard equipment is accepted up to 70 pounds at a flat rate
  • Kiteboards are not accepted on flights operated by Express Jet

American Airlines:

  • $150 each way
  • Board under 62″ in length and bag under 50lbs in total weghit
  • United Airlines:
  • $150 domestic and $200 international if the bag is over 62 total linear inches (Length+width+height)
  • Equipment over 115″ will not be accepted
  • Again watch out for excess baggage embargo
